Ping Wei demonstrated miniature Ikebana arrangements at the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension. After everyone completed their own grouping of miniatures, Ping gave a thorough design review with helpful tips.

The 2016 annual membership tea was held outside on a beautiful spring day in the Chaparral Suites courtyard. Pat Kuffler headed the volunteers who designed the tablescapes and made 50 origami boxes that were used as miniature Ikebana vases. Officers were designated for the upcoming year.

Visiting from Japan, Professor Kiyoshi Imagawa demonstrated 11 arrangements in various Ikenobo styles. A luncheon followed at the Chaparral Suites on March 4, 2016. –
Members of Ikebana of Arizona represented Ikenobo, Ohara, and Sogetsu schools at this year’s Annual Phoenix Art Museum Asian Galleries Ikebana Exhibit held February 26-18, 2016.

Study Group entered more than 44 displays in the 7th Annual Ikebana Exhibit at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Phoenix. The 3 day event from Jan. 29-31, included live music, Ikebana information artist booth, Ikebana presentations and hands-on-experiences, and a pottery display by Ping Wei.

Holiday Workshop by Retta marconi-Dooley, Sogetsu School

The Christmas demonstration by Retta was fabulous as always. Lots of beautiful flowers were provided for the members and guests to work with and enjoy. It had a Western Christmas theme. The first five photo’s are from Retta’s Demo and the rest are some of the members creations.
A wonderful demonstration by Kika Shibata, Riji, Sogetsu School, from San Jose, CA. The luncheon at Chaparral Suites was a delicious Chicken or Tofu Salad served atop a quartered Pineapple with all the trimmings.
Phoenix Art Museum had the 11th annual Arts & Flowers display October 15=18, 2015.
Seven of our members participated.
Kate Secrest received 1st place as Most Creative Floral Design.
